Groundbreaking Downsizing Approach

The main goals during development were to reduce size and weight while achieving higher power and good emissions values. The results are very convincing: weight and consumption values are lower than any other engine in this class.   

More power does not equal more weight

The Hatz H-Series is up to 90 kilograms lighter than its closest competitor. This weight saving leads not only to a lower power-to-weight ratio but also to a lower demand for raw materials. The engine family meets all emissions requirements in the EU and the USA, the latter even without a particle filter.

Conservatively innovative engine for a long service life

All mechanical components were designed and developed with a conservatively innovative approach. Thus, the Hatz H-Series has two valves per cylinder, achieving high efficiency, mechanical robustness, and functional simplicity. This - along with the exclusive use of premium products for all critical components - leads to the durability that Hatz is known for.
