Wherever battery-electric machines are operated without power infrastructure, there is a risk that the battery charge will run low before the work is completed. In these applications, the flywheel-integrated permanent magnet generator, fiPMG, reliably supplies power to recharge the battery even under the harshest conditions, thereby maximizing machine uptime.

The fiPMG generators are suitable for use in hybrid systems, as backup during power outages, or for permanent energy supply. Machines with integrated fiPMG generators allow for longer battery-electric machine operation which help to reduce emissions. If necessary, properly designed can operate using batteries only in a zero emission mode. The combustion engine remains on standby during this environmentally friendly operation.

Thanks to the extremely compact dimensions of the fiPMG, minimum adjustments to the machine's design are necessary. With an installation depth of 1.38 inches and a weight of 6.6 pounds, the Hatz fiPMG’s are over 85 percent lighter and shorter than conventional generators. Bcause the power take-off shaft is still available, the machine is even more flexible in design. As a prefabricated and tested drive package, the engines with fiPMG technology are easy for an OEM machine manufacturer to install and assemble. Integration into the battery charging controls of the machine is made easy thanks to the use of the CAN bus technology, leading to a user-friendly plug-and-play system.
